Meet the Author

Dominique Mackey is a Digital Marketing Strategist from California. With a strong background in video production and project management, she works with clients to strengthen their digital presence and voice.

 

She’s worked for Emmy award-winning production company Bunim & Murray on an MTV hit-reality show, utilizing her skills and creative direction on reels and other video-related projects.

 

Dominique has an array of experience and knowledge in advertising, branding, video production and execution of strategic marketing plans.

She graduated magna cum laude from the illustrious Bennett College in North Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media Studies. She later went on to further her education and obtained a master’s degree in Strategic Communications, graduating summa cum laude.

Dominique has one daughter, Blayre, who she adores. When challenged with a loved one’s mental illness that severely impacted Dominique and her daughter, she decided to write about it.  Dominique looked to begin the conversation about mental illness with her daughter in a loving, safe, and honest environment. It was important that she and her daughter shaped the narrative about their loved one and mental illness and not the world.

Some Days Have Clouds is Dominique’s first published children’s book but most certainly won’t be her last.
